Subscriptions
The way Family Cluster handles subscriptions/notifications has changed. (See this thread)The Old Subscription SystemThe old subscription system is still available to those who like it. We won't remove it since it's already built in, however, we have disabled it from being on by default. If you are a new user we recommend that you do not enable it. The options for subscribing under the old system were in the Edit section of My Account. This subscription system will send you individual emails whenever a post or comment was added to your family's cluster. Active clusters can fill in boxes up quickly.Introducing the Flexible New Subscription SystemYou now have many subscription options. Preferences can be adjusted by visiting the Subscriptions tab of My Account.
Default Options
- Auto subscribe to new content. This will notify you if someone writes a comment about one of your posts.
- Auto subscribe to updated content. This will notify you if someone writes a comment to a post you edited but didn't author. (Only applies to family managers, administrators, and moderators.)
- Auto subscribe to comments. This will notify you if someone writes a comment to a post that you have commented on.
- Digest mode. This allows you to receive notification of all new posts and new comments, to which you are subscribed, consolidated in one email.
- Send interval set to daily. You will receive a digest email once per day listing all new posts and comments since the last email. This can be changed to your own preference. Options are; every three hours, every eight hours, daily, and weekly.
- Receive notifications when posts you are subscribed to are updated or receive new comments.
Choose Content Types
You have the option of choosing which types of content you wish to subscribe to. For example; you can choose to receive notifications for Family Posts and Family Cluster News but decline to receive notifications for Gallery Posts.
Subscribe to Posts (Threads)
You can choose which posts you want to receive new comment notifications. The default is set to receive comment notifications to posts that you author or comment on. The theory is you are interested in the post because you authored it or you took the time to comment on it. If you would like to receive comment notifications to posts you haven't authored or comment you can be checking the box next to Subscribe to this post. If you have any questions please address them in the support forum.
